Diptyque Perfume

Thanks to Hautelook, I was able to snag two of these babies for the price of one! And, yes, my love for Diptyque extends beyond just their candles.

L'ombre Dans L'eau - If you are a fan of their Baies candle, this perfume is a pretty close match with its main two scents being a mix of black currant leaves and Bulgarian roses. Upon first smelling this, I was definitely surprised at how crisp and clean the smell is for containing roses, which I usually assume would smell a bit powdery. But it's a heavy clean scent, if that makes any sense, as it is very green. The staying power is amazing, I can still catch whiffs of it 6 hours after spraying. And because the scent is so strong, all it takes is one spray and you're good to go. Also, Phoebe Tonkin and Alexa Chung wear this scent so it makes it that much more appealing!

Oyedo - Citrus scents are one of my favorites and Diptyque really hits it out of the ballpark with this one! Oyedo is a mixture of lime, mandarin orange, lemon, yuzu with a middle note of thyme and a woodsy base note. What make this fragrance so unique, in my opinion, is that it doesn't try hard to be overly citrusy, it has an energizing quality to it and a softness that other citrus perfumes don't quite have. It's definitely a more refreshing scent that would be perfect for spring and summer days, and is like a more grown-up fruity fragrance. The staying power, as with most Diptyque fragrances, is incredibly and it lasted an entire day of errands.

Both bottles are 100 ml (3.4 oz) and $120 each, although they occasionally pop up on Hautelook for about half the price! The only difference is the outdated bottle style, as the current ones are oval. Other than that, the fragrance itself is the same.
